Course Title: “Gingival Recession, Grafting, and Improving Patient Outcomes”
Presenter: Sally J. Cram, DDS
Course attendees will learn proper documentation and diagnosis of gingival recession, how it affects the gingival health, and indications for treatment. The discussion will also include the various types of gingival grafting currently used, along with the indications for each. The course will show how restorative work can be complemented with grafting procedures to improve restorative outcomes, aesthetics, and patient comfort. Numerous “before” and “after” case photos will complement the presentation.
Dr. Cram is a 1986 graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry and a 1988 graduate of the University of texas health Science Center's graduate periodontal training program. She has beeen in full-time practice inWashington, D.C. since 1988. She has been a spokesperson and consumer advisor for the American Dental Association for the past six years and has held previous teaching positions at Georgetown Uiversity School of Dentistry and Northern Virgiia Communty College's dental hygiene program.

Dr. Rams, a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, is Senior Associate Dean, Keyes Professor and Chair of the Department of Periodontology and Oral Implantology, and Director of the Oral Microbiology Testing Service Laboratory, at Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Dujardin is a graduate periodontology resident at Temple University School of Dentistry with six years of private practice experience in France with periodontal anti-infective therapy. Course Description: Recent research developments and treatment strategies in non-surgical periodontal anti-infective therapy will be critically reviewed, with emphasis on practical applications for clinical practice. Use of local/systemic antimicrobial chemotherapy and diagnostic microbiological testing as a means to enhance outcomes of non-surgical periodontal therapy will be detailed.
